Kala Namak is a dark volcanic rock salt. It has a distinct flavour and smell similar to that of boiled eggs due to the sulphite mineral content within the salt. In India, Kala Namak (or nimak) is used as a salty, strong condiment and in various savoury dishes.
Kala Namak is actually a deep pink/violet colour, however it is not the same as Pink Salt. Pink Salt does not have the sulphur content.
If you are new to using Kala Namak, we advise you use sparingly.
